The RV Pandaw and The Irrawaddy Flotilla Company
A journey on Ayeyarwaddy River is one of life's great travel
experiences. The old Irrawaddy Flotilla was a Scot's company founded in
1865. By the 1920s the 'fabulous flotilla' as it became known, was the
largest privately owned fleet of ships in the world. The company was
received in 1995 and has since then specialized in river cruises in
Myanmar.
The Pandaw is 150 feet long and has a beam of 34 feet. Conserving
many original features, it was restored to recreate the atmosphere and
character of the first class deck of a colonial river steamer.
With the flexibility of 3 ships, it offers:
Shorter cruises
1. between Bagan and Mandalay (duration 1 or 2 nights)
2. Royal Burma (duration 4 nights)
A four night circular cruise exploring the five old royal capitals
Mandalay, Mingun, Innwa(Ava), Amaraapura and Sagaing.
3. Middle Burma (duration 5 nights)
A five night cruise connecting Bagan to Yangon by river and road.
